Passport Extension
Service overview
One-year passport extension for permanent-residence related services in Australia and New Zealand.
Required documents
- Signed letter of request addressed to the Head of Mission.
- Original passport.
- Copy of permanent residence.
- Prepaid return envelope with full address.
Additional requirements
- Optional: request a To Whom It May Concern certificate confirming the extension (paid, see Fees).
Fees
- Passport Extension
- Passport extension: free. To Whom It May Concern certificate for extension: $150 AUD.
Payment Method
- No payment or receipt is needed for the passport extension itself.
- If you request the optional certificate, pay its fee using one of the payment methods below and include the receipt.
Accepted payment methods
- Bank transfer to the consular services account (bank fees are paid by the applicant).
- Australia Post Money Order made out to the Embassy of the Republic of the Sudan (postal fees are paid by the applicant).

Proof of payment: Email the payment receipt to cs@sudanembassy.com.au, or include a copy with your application.

How to apply
Personal attendance: Not requiredApply in person by appointment or by post.
- Prepare all required documents, including your original passport. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Submit in person after booking an appointment by email or phone, or send all documents together by post to the Embassy address.

Document collection / return
- Collect your documents in person from the Embassy, or
- Include a prepaid return envelope with your full address and the Embassy will post your documents back. A tracked envelope is recommended.
- Your original passport is returned with the extension, so a tracked envelope is strongly recommended.
Important notes
- The embassy in Canberra does not issue new passports.
